I am Andrew GIBBS and I live at the premises stated overleaf. I
am employed by the South and East Wales Ambulance Trust. I have been
working within the service for about 5 years and am now employed as a
Medical Technician. I am at this stage in training to be a Paramedic. My base is Newport Ambulance Station, which is situated at Albert Street in Pill.
On Friday 28th February, 1997 I worked from 3 pm in the afternoon
to 7 am on the Saturday morning. At 11 pm on the Friday night I
accompanied a male known as Martin TRAINER. He was my partner for
the remainder of the shift.
That particular night was very busy and we were called out a
number of times. At about 3.24 am I received a call at the Newport Ambulance Station, by telephone. I spoke to one of the Ambulance Control Room Operators.
