The following statement has been made by John Charles Rees Q.C. who was the Defence Barrister for Paul Paginton at the trial at Newport Crown Court.
This statement is in response to an appeal launched by his Pauls new legal team, who are Andrew Shanahan & Michael O'Connell of the firm of solicitors Leo Abse & Cohen of Churchill Way, Cardiff.
